This is one of those rare cases where the movie far outstrips the original written story. Babette's Feast about love, forgiveness, sins committed and lost opportunities (things done and left undone), loyalty, servanthood, art, food and wine, and God's infinite mercy for us despite our failures to follow His Will. I watch it every Thanksgiving.

The website lists links to many reviews of the movie; it's interesting to see how many faith traditions have responded to it.

In Danish and French, with English subtitles. While the subject matter is suitable for general audiences, younger children may need someone to read the subtitles for them.
