James Caleb Dean joins Scholars Online as Algebra Instructor

Caleb Dean studied with Scholars Online in the early years of our program. A National Merit Scholar, he majored in mathematics and computer science at the University of Dallas. We are delighted to have him rejoin Scholars Online as our new Algebra teacher.

Our complete mathmematics program includes

  1. Algebra 1 (Instructor: James Caleb Dean) — MWF 6:00pm-7:00pm ET
  2. Geometry (Instructor: Art Mabbott) — MWF 11:00am-12:00pm ET
  3. Algebra 2 (Instructor: Art Mabbott) — MWF 12:00pm-1:00pm ET
  4. Pre-Calculus with Trigonometry (Instructor: Art Mabbott) — MWF 2:00pm-3:00pm ET
  5. Calculus (Instructor: Fred Williams) — MWF 10:00am-10:55am ET
Scholars Online math courses meet three times a week to provide more interaction and guidance, and to ensure that students are developing ways to visualize and understand concepts, as well as procedures for solving problems. Teachers use a combination of text chat, whiteboard, and audio methods for course delivery. For more on how the integrated math program works see the Scholars Online Mathematics Sequence page.

Update on Summer Session Courses for 2017

We've added several new courses for the summer session, which runs from June 12 - August 18, 2017 (individual courses may span different periods within the session, so check your course description for exact start dates). Most summer classes are chances for students to build new skills in fun but still useful ways. Click on the course name to see descriptions of class schedules and costs, and on syllabus links to see detailed course content and assignments. Enrollment must be completed by June 3 to ensure placement in the course, and payment in full is due before students can attend chat sessions (membership and registration fees are due at enrollment). Enrollments received after June 3 may not be processed in time for students to attend the first sessions of their course.

Adults and older students who want to review materials, gain new skills, or just discuss classic works of drama and literature are welcome to join any of our summer courses.
