Othello (Shakespeare: the Animated Tales)
1994: Nikolai Serebryakov

One of the set of animated tales; all in all, they are curiously successful, though they are highly compressed. The animation on all the pieces are different in style, so there is a certain interest to that. The plot itself is reduced to about twenty-five minutes, and hence a good deal of the play is necessarily missing. Not a substitute for reading or seeing the play entire, it nevertheless offers some interesting visual perspectives on the story.
