How Scholarships Work
Scholars Online is privileged to have a dedicated and generous Board of Directors, teaching staff, and loyal students and parents. In 2007, in response to several donations by student families, the Board of Directors established the scholarship fund and begin designating a minimum of 7% of our annual income to provide financial aid for our students, many of whom come from missionary families, single-income families, or families with medical need. In addition to several donations from students and families in subsequent years, all money earned through our Bookstore as an Amazon Associate has also been designated for scholarships.
Scholarships are offered in the form of tuition waivers paid directly to the teachers. The amount of tuition waiver is determined on a case-by-case basis but is usually 50% of tuition charges, while scholarship funds last. Families are responsible for membership and registration fees, for any tuition not covered by the waiver, and for all books and supplies required for their courses. No money is distributed directly to a scholarship recipient.
We trust that you have given serious consideration to your need, and recognize that our scholarship funds are limited, and that, once disbursed to help you, they are not available for other students in need.
If you do wish to request financial aid, please contact our Accounts and Billing office at firstname.lastname@example.org, or mail us at

You will need to include a statement describing your financial need situation (limited income, medical expenses, family emergency). We do not require income tax information or other detailed personal financial information. Once we have established a recognized need,
The easiest way to donate to the Scholarship Fund is to use Amazon's new "Smile" program. You simply designate in your own account that you want all purchase credits to go to Scholars Online. Then just make your Amazon purchaes as you normally do. A percentage of every purchase will be credited to the Scholars Online account to help us defer tuition costs for students with high medical expenses, limited family income, or other family emergencies.
You can also use the Scholars Online bookstore to make your Amazon purchases, not just for textbooks! Click on the banner below, and a portion of the proceeds from anything you buy at Amazon during this session will be donated to the Scholars Online scholarship fund!
We gratefully accept cash donations to our fund. Please let us know whether you wish to honor a teacher, parent, or student, and we will notify them about the donation you make in their names. We will also send the donor a receipt for tax purposes.
