Prerequisites
Latin IV or equivalent; further preparation is certainly appropriate, though not absolutely required.
Recommended background
This is a course that requires considerable fluency and competence in Classical Latin. Some acquaintance with Medieval History is an advantage as well.
Teacher's notes:
A specialized course for those who are interested in pursuing Medieval Studies; it deals with standard Late Latin and Medieval Latin authors selected for difficulty, and conducted at the level of an upper-division college course. This is not a course in the Vulgate or its equivalent; it gets into some fairly subtle historical linguistics.
